Water Preservation taking Australia by Storm!

Wednesday 11th April 2007
Storm Water Preservation (Storm) has great pleasure in announcing Round three Applications for the Federal Government’s Community Water Grant (CWG) is now open.

The Government is providing grants under the CWG totalling two hundred million dollars and Storm is inviting all applications for funding to show the commitment of local community groups to help conserve our most precious and potentially scarce natural resource – water! From school’s to sporting clubs and nursing homes, all community organisations are eligible and are encouraged to apply.

Community Water Grants provide assistance of up to $50,000 per community centre to help save, re-use or improve the health of local water resources. These grants will allow schools to harvest rain water effectively, sporting clubs to keep grounds at playing standards and nursing homes to maintain picturesque gardens. With new water restrictions looming, the community grants are vital to the community.

Storm and it's installation provider BlueScope Water will provide applicants with a complete solution from application, to implementation to facilitate a fully integrated system and put water back into the community.

Round one and two of the community grants were a great success with Storm processing over six hundred applications via an online process.

Alisha Kay, Marketing Manager for Storm Water Preservation says the process produced overwhelming results and she looks forward to the commencement of Round three applications.

"The procedure can be quite time consuming and often difficult and confusing. We are a one stop shop at Storm Water and our approach keeps things quick and simple to ensure all information is submitted correctly.” Alisha Kay, Marketing Manager explains.

Ordinarily the method of applications would involve lengthy sourcing and organising of contractors such as tank suppliers, plumbers, excavators, drainage contractors, concreters, installation specialists and electricians, but through Storm this process is done at no cost to the applicant.

Applicants can apply via an internet based application system at www.stormwp.com This is the first step in obtaining an obligation free quote and an informed understanding as to how Storm can help candidates take advantage of the Community Water Grant. Alternatively, Storm has great technical support and can guide representatives through the process by calling 1300 791 915.

There are many ways the community can save water and late last year Storm revealed the Melbourne CBD could collect 4.2 billion litres a year in rainwater if tanks were installed across the city. This is equivalent to up to eighty three thousand back yard swimming pools!

Alisha Kay, ambassador for Storm Water Preservation Aust. is available for interview regarding the Community Water Grants upon request.
